Destination Vancouver and the Vancouver Convention Centre: Propelling Life Sciences on the Global Stage

Leaders in Vancouver’s health and life sciences community had the opportunity to connect, share knowledge, and celebrate their successes at Team Vancouver’s recent Life Sciences dinner. On March 21, Destination Vancouver and the Vancouver Convention Centre collaborated to host key connections for an exclusive dining experience at Vancouver MICHELIN-Starred restaurant, Burdock & Co

Invited guests brought unique perspectives to the event, having previously considered or been involved in hosting, bidding, or winning health and life sciences conferences in Vancouver. All in attendance have played a valuable role in positioning Vancouver as a life sciences hub and in showcasing British Columbia’s research excellence.

The evening also presented the opportunity for government-affiliated stakeholders to discuss the value of business events. There, Jacquie Griffiths of Invest Vancouver highlighted the pivotal role business events play in driving investment into Life Sciences.

In meeting with experts in various bidding and hosting stages, attendees walked away with best practices and insights on how to best position their bids and conferences for success in Vancouver.

Showcasing Local Expertise on the Global Stage

By connecting experts with support at every stage of the bid and hosting process, Destination Vancouver and our MIND Partnership help local life sciences leaders showcase their work on an international level:

  • In collaboration with Life Sciences British Columbia, Destination Vancouver’s MIND Partnership helps further Vancouver as a life sciences hub. The MIND Partnership empowers and connects local experts with opportunities to bid-on and host major conferences.

  • Destination Vancouver helps remove the operational and logistical hurdles from the bid process. The Destination Vancouver team supports in the development of bid books, presentations, budget planning, and in arranging conference and hotel facilities.
